Hi Everyone! This is again Mukul Narang this side, I hope you all are doing well. Struggling to click awesome photos as a solo traveler? Don’t worry.
I’ve always loved solo traveling. And to travel alone is like collecting memories which only creates gems in our hearts. Being a solo traveler from my recent trips & tour I can guarantee you the tricks which I am gonna discuss below, will help you click awesome photos as a solo traveler. No matter If you are a pro or a newbie, you can definitely create a drooling Instagram feed.
Below are some spectacular solo traveler habits which I’ve practiced from my years of trying to click awesome photos as a solo traveler.
1. Clear your mind about what you want.
Everyone who sees your photos feels happy when the idea and scene click in the mind of viewers. You should clear your mind about the aim of your photos and how do you want your photos to look like. Question your mind that-
2. Inspiration is the key
Inspiration can be found anywhere and in anyone. It can be anyone who you admire- may be your idol, it can be your favorite actor or any celebrity. I would personally recommend Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration. Explore these media, there are so many people who make us inspire from their blissful feeds. Select the style you want and save them for future use. There are so many spectacular shots posted on them.
3. The Selfie stick game
Use the selfie stick for yourself. What’s the problem? Ya, people may see you as a tourist but who cares? Let them assume what they assume. Cherish the moment. Traveling is the greatest luxury in life. Feel yourself lucky If you are traveling because many people strive for their lifetime. So, use your selfie at every moment you feel like capturing it. Never feel embarrassed.
4. Carry a Tripod with you
Try to bring a tripod everywhere so you can capture the wide range of shots. Merely using selfie-stick might end up with too many close-up shots.
It may seem a hassle to many of you but actually, it’s not If you use the right bag. I also carry a tripod with me whenever I travel alone. Get a lightweight tripod and try to carry it whenever you go for a holiday.
5. Seek the help of others around you
Why feeling shy asking to click a photograph? If you want to get a perfect shot for your profile, don’t be afraid to ask for help from strangers. Listen to your gut feeling and handover the camera to someone you feel is trustworthy. Show them the kind of picture you want them to click and keep your camera settings ready. Now just stop everything. Smile and Pose!
Wait…What? Don’t forget to say thanks for the picture or just help them in clicking their pictures.
6. Carry a GoPro
You know what? I really adore my GoPro. It is amazing for shooting the solo pictures. I personally use the HERO6 Black + 3-way Mount. My most used shooting settings is a burst and time lapse for continuous shooting.
You can choose from 3/1 second, 5/1 second, 10/1 setting, 30/1 setting (default selection). You’ve so much shooting options in it depending on what you are shooting.

The new GoPro HERO5 Black is perfect for on-the-go travel and outdoor adventures– it’s waterproof and more durable than ever. I don’t usually have a company of my GoPro, the 3-way Mount, and extra GoPro batteries whenever I go on a trip.
